Star Dance #36

The visual effects of star trail photography provided the initial motivation for the Star Dance series. This animated work translates that principle into a fully generative system, where points of light create their own intricate trails across the composition. As a unique output from the program, this piece shows one result of the code's probabilistic sequencing of available movement patterns. The system also contains a feature that allows the level of abstraction to be altered, shifting the scene between a celestial representation and a purely geometric form. This one of one edition was created in April 2023.
